Day (United States of America) Job Summary
Position will maintain and repair mechanical and electrical equipment and systems, including pumps, motors, lamp ballasts, lamps, and light‑to‑medium carpentry work. Responsibilities also cover commercial door repairs, automatic door operators, light‑to‑medium sheetrock repairs, general plumbing repairs of valves, piping, pneumatic control air systems, and compressors where applicable. The role completes apprentice‑to‑journeyman tasks, performs preventative maintenance, and documents all repairs in the computerized maintenance management system. Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions
Daily Repairs : Respond to telephoned service requests and daily project work orders; assess work complexity and required tools and materials; prepare purchase requisitions and submit for approval; complete repairs timely and submit documentation; maintain inventory of critical spare parts; rekey locks and repair/unlock automatic and manual doors. Preventative Maintenance : Receive and assess maintenance requests; conduct maintenance as specified; note deficiencies and report to the coordinator; follow up to ensure compliance with Code and JCAHO Survey requirements; document completion in CMMS; assist others as needed. Miscellaneous Duties : Conduct monthly zone tours and note repairs; inspect fire and smoke walls for sealed penetrations; notify coordinator of repairs; perform additional duties as assigned; comply with Wellstar Health System policies and codes of conduct. High School Diploma (General) or GED (General) License(s)
Georgia Driver’s License (GADL) Experience
Minimum 3 years in general mechanical maintenance and repairs. Skills
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, medical air, automatic/manual doors, and tube systems. Strong mechanical repair and light electrical skills. Experience troubleshooting and repairing pumps, motors, pneumatic control air systems, light‑to‑medium plumbing, commercial door repair and installation, and automatic door operators. Knowledge of light carpentry and sheetrock work. Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and follow blueprints; understanding of NFPA and Life Safety Codes applicable in a healthcare environment; computer literacy.
