General Foreman / Outside Machinist
– HII, Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS)

Role The General Foreman / Outside Machinist supervises and coordinates semi‑skilled and skilled trades personnel. Key responsibilities include:
Assigning, coordinating, and evaluating trades staff according to skill, experience, and job knowledge.
Training employees to improve quality and productivity, and recommending training programs.
Breaking strategy into actionable plans and ensuring staff are trained to execute them.
Ensuring compliance with technical drawings and procedures.
Managing manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that impact the company’s financial performance.
Monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.
Qualifications Must Have • BS/Apprentice + 4 years production supervisory experience
OR
Non‑BS/Non‑Apprentice with 6 years combined production supervisory experience and/or CS experience.
