Position Summary Under general supervision, performs precision tune‑ups and maintenance on HVAC equipment and accessories, communicates with customers to resolve issues, ensures customer satisfaction, promotes products and services, and works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance calls under general supervision.

Execute routine precision tune‑ups and maintenance on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories in an accurate and timely manner.

Inspect and perform limited diagnostics to identify potential problems and prevent premature breakdowns.

Complete routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed.

Deliver and remove parts and equipment required for service work.

Assist the Service Technician in servicing HVAC equipment and accessories.

Record all required information on a hand‑held device, complete forms and paperwork accurately and on time, and collect payment from customers if necessary.

Communicate with dispatch to provide accurate status reports of activities and availability.

Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Promote products and services to the customer; call Sales and Service Coordinator with specifics on replacement product sales leads generated from customer service visits.

Ensure company property, vehicles, and tools are properly used, maintained, and accounted for.

Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters.

Follow standard procedures and processes; keep the company vehicle properly stocked.

Perform similar or other duties as needed or assigned.

Health & Safety Roles and Responsibilities

Report unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to the direct supervisor/manager immediately.

Report contravention of legislation or company policy, procedure or program immediately.

Correct substandard acts or conditions within area of control.

Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed.

Never remove or render ineffective safety guards, devices, or clothing prescribed to be in place or worn.

Comply with general rules as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s).

Operate devices or equipment as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s).

Participate in any safety initiatives, teams, or committees.

Report all injuries or incidents immediately as prescribed.

Provide input on developing safety initiatives and plans to eliminate exposures that could cause accidents.

Do not perform acts that may endanger the safety or well‑being of others.

Do not engage in pranks, contests, or rough boisterous behavior.

Work in compliance with applicable legislative requirements.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with additional HVAC training; 0 to 1 year of experience preferred.

Must possess all valid licensing or certification required by federal, state, provincial, or local laws for the geographical work area.

EPA and safety certifications required.

Basic knowledge of operational fundamentals of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment and related accessories.

Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment.

Basic skills in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct system problems on air conditioning equipment.

Effective communication skills to resolve customer issues, complaints, or concerns.

Effective and efficient time‑management and organizational skills.

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Availability to work flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed.

Experience performing basic maintenance work on HVAC equipment and related accessories is desirable.

Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces; ability to carry up to 40 pounds.

Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including hot, cold, indoor, outdoor, humid, and at heights.

Ability to safely climb ladders rated for a 300 lb load capacity with a 30 lb tool belt.

Normal vision with depth perception for close and distance tasks.
