Maintenance Mechanic Our Dodge City, KS Fertilizer Plant is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join the team to support the maintenance group and the continued health of the facility by troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative and precision maintenance on equipment leading to increased uptime and reliability.

This is a day shift position working four, 10‑hour shifts Monday – Thursday. Overtime and call‑outs are within the scope of this position.

What You Will Do

Utilize the Koch Principle Based Management (PBM) philosophy as a platform to develop both your capabilities and those of the entire team, fostering a positive and transformative culture within the group.

Embrace and adhere to all facility safe‑work policies, practices, and regulations.

Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment to achieve optimal performance levels using precision maintenance best practices, tools, and techniques.

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial drives, pumps, turbines, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, gear reducers and other industrial process equipment.

Use predictive maintenance technologies such as hand‑held vibration monitoring, ultra‑sonic detection (UE) and lube‑oil analysis (MLT/MLA) on rotating equipment.

Complete welding, fabrication and installs in the shop and field to support maintenance needs, mechanical integrity, and capital projects.

Manage daily workflow activities and work orders utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Assist, train and partner with the Operations Dept. to identify and prioritize maintenance needs and collaborate on plant initiatives.

Experiment with new technologies, systems/solutions, and workflows. Challenge the status‑quo, expand the knowledge of the team, and help drive transformation within the people and processes.

Improve, develop, and implement maintenance process improvements and efficiencies.

Physical Requirements

Required PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, acid suits, breathing air, gloves, safety boots, respirators, Arc Flash suits, and encapsulated suits. PPE use is in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for a given task.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions.

Climb stairs, ladders, ladders on vessels and columns, and ladders associated with scaffolds in excess of 100 feet.

Basic Qualifications

Experience working in Industrial Maintenance or similar field.

Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Additional Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a Technical field (e.g., Electro‑Mechanical Technology, Automotive/Diesel Technology, Welding Technology).

3+ years of experience with Industrial or Chemical Plant maintenance.

Experience with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
