Position Summary Located in North America's wind belt, Davenport proudly stands at the forefront of renewable energy technology. Since 1927 it has been home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities. Originally focused on cereal production, the factory transitioned to become a pet‑food‑only manufacturer in the late 1990s. Today it is the largest pet‑food manufacturing facility in the U.S., producing, packaging, and shipping brands such as Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, and Kit N Kaboodle®. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you are responsible for the preventive mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical equipment in the factory, ensuring plant reliability and process improvements.

Responsibilities

Properly use maintenance equipment including hand tools, lifts, threaders, benders, drills, and welding equipment.

Repair gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators, and packaging equipment.

Maintain wastewater system, boiler operations, cooling towers, and general building needs.

Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.

Be open to all shifts.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

1+ years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, military, or related environment OR a 2‑year technical degree.
