Certified Sterile Processing Technician (Full‑time)
Position at Bon Secours Surgery Center at Harbour View, a busy multispecialty surgery center serving Northern Suffolk and an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International.
Responsibilities include caring for and maintaining all surgical instrumentation, setting up supplies and instruments for surgery cases, and supporting departmental functions in line with USPI’s mission. The role requires effective working relationships with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with all types of sterilizers.
Knowledge of operating room instrumentation.
Organized in setting up operating room instrument trays.
Understanding of steam/gravity sterilizer operations.
Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items.
Independent decision‑making skills.
Excellent customer‑service skills.
Advocate of patient safety and quality of care.
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
Required Skills
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Certification: Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician.
Experience: 2 years in an Instrument Room Technician role preferred.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong command of English, verbal and written.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
