Primary Responsibilities
Understands how the Carpenter interacts with a Laborer during the tank building process and can direct the work as required.
Establishes crews, assigns responsibilities and follows through on assigned work to meet the project timeline.
Reads and interprets tank drawings and construction information package to ensure work is performed according to specifications.
Inventories material upon delivery to ensure components comply with the contract drawings prior to signature.
Involved in daily close‑out meetings with the Superintendent, providing an update on the day’s activities and needs for the following day.
Follows quality control (QC) program, understands construction tolerances, and reports any quality defects immediately.
Checks and confirms elevation grades and plumbness on critical tank components.
Follows and upholds safety procedures and understands DN Tanks safety policies.
Identifies hazards, takes action to correct them, and is responsible for recognizing those who do the same in accordance with the Award of Excellence (AOE) Program.
Promotes clean, safe work practices by watching over other employees while performing work.
Provides coaching and training while motivating the team to produce quality work and ensure all safety standards are met with all individuals on the project.
Maintains all certifications in compliance with DN Tanks Safety & Equipment Programs.
Performs all job‑site layout utilizing survey equipment under direction of the Superintendent.
Supports the training program by working closely with other traveling tank builders and utilizing all resources available in DN University.
Qualifications
Operates and maintains DN Tanks tools and equipment.
Is able to travel to project sites throughout the United States at the direction of the Field Operations Manager.
Is able to climb and perform tasks at heights on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, shoring, and scaffolds.
Is able to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.
Has completed DN Tanks crane certification.
