Nuverra Environmental Solutions Disposal Well Operators assist in the operation, maintenance and control of wastewater systems: including salt water disposal wells, pipeline distribution systems, and transporting wastewater, to ensure the safe, economical and efficient operations of the disposals. Operators monitor, maintain and report the operation of wells; inspect and maintain property and equipment on a routine basis; work to optimize production in a safe, cost-effective manner.

Qualifications

Must be 18-years of age or older

High school diploma or GED

Vocational or equivalent training in general machinery operation or equipment usage, oil and gas production, or relevant field preferred

Six months to a year related experience and/or training in oilfield and/or waste water related fields preferred

Knowledge of general water piping systems, pumps, motors, valves, meters and other related equipment preferred

Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and fitness for duty test (FIT test)

Must pass background check

Operational Job Functions and Responsibilities

Maintains equipment and fluid levels to ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental agencies

Checks loads to ensure readiness for disposal and no hazardous materials are put into the disposal well

Handle oilfield fluids while abiding by safety, DOT and Company safe driving policies. Sample water and/or waste water

Read and interpret information such as driving routes, safety rules, operating instructions and manuals as required by Company, DOT, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and State Agencies

Provide relief pumping when needed

Routinely monitor and inspect pumping units and production equipment such as flow meters, tank gauges, well heads pressure and flow meters for proper operations and maintenance records. Ensure they are well maintained.

Routine checks on well sites according to schedule. Ensure they are clean and maintained; check for spills, fluid leaks etc.

Participate in periodic well review meetings with Well Operations Supervisor and Manager and HSE Representative

Record, maintain and submit daily data/paperwork for the number of loads and amounts of barrels that are unloaded in a timely, accurate and legible manner. Turn in all reports and tickets on a timely basis.

Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to learn company specific applications

Analyze production related problems and work with relative personnel to troubleshoot

Perform light maintenance on equipment

Perform all duties in accordance with environmental, health and safety guidelines.

Work cooperatively as a part of a team to efficiently meet the needs of SWD department.

Attend safety meetings and follow safety precautions according to OSHA standards, and attend training as necessary

Promptly report all work incidents to Company personnel including: Supervisor, Dispatch and HSE Representative

Maintain proper cleanliness of work environment and security of assigned equipment along with well site. Ensure well site provided vehicle is well maintained and cleaned.

Skills

Strong interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to relate to people, positively influence them and use positive conflict resolution as needed.

Excellent written, organizational and computer skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task; capable of using Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel and Outlook to input, process, document, and file data.

Communicate effectively with co-workers in English dialect: orally, in writing and typing.

Ability to be flexible in the working environment, learn and carry out directives including mechanical ability.

Ability to read gauges, do minor math calculations, and complete proper paperwork.

Required to attend and complete education and training assignments and read and interpret documents and carry out instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

Department of Transportation (DOT), Health Safety & Environmental (HSE), and Company regulations

Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT), Health Safety & Environmental (HSE), and Company regulations and safely meet qualifications

Complete required equipment inspections

Accurately track assigned well site vehicle and equipment maintenance and fueling

Properly wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Attend and participate in all Company Safety meetings and assigned trainings such as daily Tailgate Meetings, Weekly Target Zero Training, and scheduled Safety Meetings

Accurately complete Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Behavior Based Safety (BBS), and Company Safers as required

Education or Training

High School Diploma or GED

Work Context

Will work in all weather conditions

24/7 shift work is required

Physical Demands Climb stairs, sitting, standing, walking, carrying, pushing, lifting up to 50 lbs., pulling, kneeling, bending, twisting, repetitive wrist and hand movements, hearing, seeing (including depth perception and peripheral vision), rapid mental coordination and alertness for entire shift
