Bridge Inspector
Our client, a multidisciplinary AECM firm with a strong east coast presence, is looking to hire a Bridge Inspector. This full‑time role works in the Manhattan area and will require travel to worksites as needed. You’ll play a crucial role in conducting inspections, ensuring bridges meet industry standards, and driving projects forward with precision.
Position Details Location:
New York, NY (Regions 9 and 10)
Salary Range:
$160k – $200k (Depends on level of experience)
Employment Type:
Full‑time, W2 employee
Work Arrangement:
On‑site as needed; may be remote when not visiting worksites.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection Execution
– Plan, schedule, and conduct detailed inspections of bridges and related structures, adhering to national and local guidelines (e.g., FHWA, AASHTO) while ensuring safety and efficiency on every project.
Reporting
– Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, document deficiencies, and recommend repairs.
Collaboration
– Work closely with clients, contractors, and government agencies to ensure smooth project execution.
Innovation
– Stay ahead of industry technologies, regulations, and methodologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
P.E. Licence
– Required (NY State).
5–10+ years
of experience in bridge inspection or structural bridge evaluation.
NBIS Certification
– Strongly preferred.
NHI 130053 Bridge Inspection Training Certificate(s)
– Required.
Strong proficiency in inspection software/tools (BrIM, Bentley, etc.).
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge or experience working with state and local agencies is a plus but not required.
Ability to work in various field conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and diverse weather.
