Alamo Group Ag Americas, LLC , based in Selma, Alabama, is a leading manufacturer of rotary cutters, finishing mowers, and tractor‑mounted implements. The Engineering Technician II will support Bush Hog’s goals of profitability, ROI, inventory turnover, and accident prevention.
Position Summary The Engineering Technician II, under general supervision, performs test and service functions related to the reliability and servicing of Bush Hog and Alamo Group products. The role includes fabricating and assembling experimental parts; bench and field testing; reporting results; and providing innovative ideas for cost and functional improvements.

Essential Functions
Focus on safety and communicate safety practices.
Conduct and document tests for new products, existing products, and purchased components.
Ensure functionality, performance, safety testing, and service life to meet reliability targets.
Read, write, and interpret test reports, providing recommendations.
Record weight data in the computer system.
Coordinate customer testing when applicable.
Design assembly fixtures and special test tooling.
Assist Quality Department and maintain prototype inventory.
Maintain shop bay and testing area clean and organized.
Operate instrumentation and data acquisition equipment.
Operate truck and trailer as needed to support testing.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Hands‑on machinery experience.
Fabrication, welding, and tractor mechanics.
Understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems (preferred).
Computer literate.
Familiarity with CAD (preferred).
Some travel and occasional overtime.
Valid driver’s license, health card, and DOT training (or willingness to obtain within 6 weeks).
Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in technology or equivalent experience.
5+ years dealership service experience (preferred).
Experience with SolidWorks (preferred).
Working Conditions Exposure to heavy steel fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly environment with heat, dust, and noise. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, travel overnight (≤5%), and work 8+ hour shifts. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
