Position Summary Injection Mold Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring injection molding machines to ensure efficient and safe production. Duties include inspecting parts to specifications, making adjustments or tool changes as needed, and resolving minor component or quality issues to maintain consistent product standards.
Core Functions
Operate machines to ensure continuous production with high quality and minimal waste.
Perform in‑process inspections to meet visual acceptance standards.
Produce parts in the proper quantity as identified by the production schedule.
Perform pre‑operation activities to ensure equipment startup.
Adjust machine settings accurately and in a timely fashion.
Perform operational procedures to maintain product quality.
Follow and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
Report material utilization in the production report.
Ensure daily production report data is correct and up to date.
Recognize defective materials and proper tooling required.
Inspect the condition of molds and component parts for damage and wear.
>Inspect machine, conveyor, and tools in department and notify Lead when maintenance or replacement tools are needed. Maintain work area to meet 5‑S standards and keep doors clear of obstructions.
Communicate with team members and support teams.
Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist whenever needed to ensure continuous production at high quality levels.
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
Prior experience operating manufacturing, packaging, and process control equipment is required.
Experience with Thermoform, Injection Mold, Douglas, ARPAC, ZED, or related machine operator is preferred.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements This position is subject to Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production‑based environment.
