As a Screw Machine Operator at MacLean-Fogg, you will be responsible for the advanced setup, operation, and troubleshooting of screw machines in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This position requires a strong mechanical background, in-depth knowledge of machining processes, and a commitment to producing high-quality parts with minimal supervision.

Position Type: Full-Time/Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Pay Range: Competitive - Discussed during interview
Work Location: Onsite - Plymouth, Michigan 48170
Shifts: 1 (4:45 AM - 3:30 PM) or 2 (3:00 PM - 1:30 AM)
Key Responsibilities
Independently perform advanced setup, operation, and adjustments on complex screw machines and related equipment.
Interpret detailed blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications to produce parts to exact standards.
Perform in-depth troubleshooting and resolve mechanical, dimensional, or process-related issues.
Use precision measurement tools to conduct thorough in-process and final inspections.
Make tooling adjustments and changeovers as required to meet production demands.
Maintain accurate production records and ensure traceability of work.
Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality procedures and policies.
Keep the work area clean and organized to meet 5S standards.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of department and company goals.
Skills/Competencies
Advanced machine operation and process knowledge
Proficiency with precision measurement instruments
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Attention to detail and quality focus
Effective time management and organizational skills
Qualifications (Required)
Education: None
Experience: 3 or more years of experience operating and setting up screw machines or similar equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine capabilities and manufacturing workflows.
Proven ability to work independently and solve complex equipment or production issues.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Required to stand for extended periods.
Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending and stooping required.
Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
Must be able to work in noisy environments.
