Carpenter General Foreman
Position at Optimized Process Designs LLC (OPD), headquartered in Katy, TX, located in Baytown, TX.
OPD is an engineering/construction company with expertise in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. Part of the Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) organization, OPD provides a one‑stop shop for construction and engineering services.
What You Will Do
Strong knowledge of torque tools, procedures, and best practices.
Lead multiple foremen and crews.
Assign job tasks to each foreman and ensure proper training.
Act as a safety role model.
Enforce OPD and client safety policies.
Anticipate and report safety and environmental concerns.
Provide records of work completed to the OPD superintendent.
Communicate with OPD Superintendent regarding material requirements and schedule NDE for pipe and welding.
Verify all material is onsite.
Coordinate with other area GF’s on planning.
Write and submit RFIs requested by area foremen.

Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite.
Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work.

Some Physical Demands
Work in outdoor weather and extreme conditions.
Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs.
Stand for extended periods (up to 11 hrs per day, breaks every 2.5 hrs).
Move body with arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, bending.
Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects/tools.
Basic Qualifications
At least 2 years as a General Foreman.
At least 4 years as a Carpenter.
Experience in a gas plant construction environment.
Experience leading teams of 40‑50 people.
Other Job Requirements
Travel required; extended periods away from home in remote areas.
Attend/lead employee safety meetings.
Work shifts up to 12 hrs per day, 7 days per week.
Meet all physical demands of the job.

Eight or more years as a Carpenter.
