Role Summary The Quality Engineering Technician bridges floor‑level quality execution with engineering‑level responsibilities, ensuring process integrity by providing immediate feedback on nonconformances, managing MRB defect planning, documenting, and conducting structured RCCA investigations. Assigned to the 2nd shift, the role may require all shifts for the first 90 days.
Responsibilities
Investigate nonconforming parts and processes on‑floor, support production and engineering.
Create and document dispositions for nonconforming tags under engineering guidance.
Support MRB defect planning: write documentation, coordinate with engineering/operations, track actions in SAP/MES, prepare summaries and trend reports.
Collect and document evidence for RCCA investigations.
Provide real‑time feedback to production teams on quality issues and rework verification.
Use SAP/MES to track work order status, update documentation, and tag nonconformances.
Support daily ZROUTSTAT reviews and contribute to work instructions.
Assist with internal audit materials and provide records.
Participate in internal audits, FAA compliance reviews, customer assessments, and preparation activities.
Attend internal, FAA, and customer‑facing meetings as representative or recorder.
Perform daily walk‑downs with operations and inspection personnel to verify process adherence.
Support First Article Inspection (FAI) data collection and verification.
Partner with Quality Engineers and Inspectors to resolve day‑to‑day quality concerns.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on defect reduction.
Participate actively in Corrective Action Board (CAB) meetings as floor‑level contributor.
Required Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or related field; equivalent technical or military experience considered.
1–3 years of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or engineering support.
Ability to work the 2nd shift and available for other shifts; initially all shifts for 90 days.
Basic understanding of aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced production environment.
Prepared to complete Daher SeeD Training.
