Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI), a leader in material testing and precision machining and a 2025 Top Workplace as recognized by The Philadelphia Inquirer, is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator, III to join our machine shop team. The Lathe Operator III is responsible for programming, setup, and operation of CNC lathes while ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with all machining and QA requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical expert who enjoys troubleshooting, mentoring other machinists, and producing high-quality parts in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining best machining practices and supporting continuous improvement across the lathe area. This is a 1st shift role working Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 3pm, at our facility in Hatfield, PA. Responsibilities

Performs programming and machine setup function as directed by the shop supervisor. Troubleshoot and optimize new programs to ensure efficient overall production and quality. Performs all types of machining operations as assigned by the Machine Shop Supervisor. Operates multiple machines during a normal workday. Assist other machine operators ensuring that parts produced are being inspected and meet quality standards. Inspect parts to ensure they meet drawing and specification requirements using proper measuring instruments. Shares expertise and knowledge throughout the lathe area and be a focal point for advice on machining. Help operators make the most efficient use of machinery and equipment by helping them with proper feeds and speeds. Be proactively aware of workload and plan tooling and material requirements for future jobs ensuring minimum downtime. Inform shop supervisor of tooling required as needed. Manufacture jigs and fixtures to improve productivity and accuracy. Assist in the progression of training and planned development for all machinists. Ensures that the shop equipment and instruments within the lathe area are functioning properly and in calibration prior to performing any work. Informs the supervisor whenever any equipment is found to be out of calibration or in need of repair. Troubleshoots problems and takes corrective action, as necessary and appropriate and within guidelines as established by the supervisor or manager. Assists with maintaining shop equipment. This includes cleaning the equipment, performing preventive maintenance as scheduled, filling out maintenance logs, and performing repair maintenance as required. Additional Responsibilities

Maintains assigned work area(s) in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times. Maintains traceability of materials and parts during operations. Follows all applicable and required specifications and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance to machining requirements. Understands and complies with LTI’s QA Program at all times. Participates in monthly machine shop team meeting. Seeks clarification when specifications or directions are unclear. Complies with all company policies and procedures at all times. Follows all safety rules and regulations at all times and utilizes personal protective equipment, as required. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the Machine Shop Supervisor or the Manager. Qualifications

Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must possess at least 5 years’ experience of working unaided on setting up and operating CNC Lathes. Minimum of 5 years’ experience of troubleshooting machines and equipment making basic repairs and adjustments or working with service vendors. Minimum of 2 years of basic programming. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to process work with accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must meet citizenship eligibility required by accrediting bodies. This position requires use of information or access to processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export laws including but not limited to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
