pipeline and plant

Welders

to preform welding on live line and pressure components at construction sites.

An In‑Service Welder must have a minimum of two years of in‑service welding experience on "live lines" and more than five years of general welding with ASME and API certifications. They must be competent in working around potentially dangerous environments and capable following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a welding rig that meets company requirements, has a good work ethic and great attention to detail. Knowledge of welding codes and NDE inspection methods is a plus.

Duties/Expectations

Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

Follow work instructions and welding procedure variables.

Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements

Set up components for welding according to specifications

Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded

Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces

Weld components using manual welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)

Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Must be able to pass all welder qualification test as required

Must meet requirements for Drug screen and background check

Corporate Responsibility

Troubleshoot and diagnose customers line intervention project in a safe and timely manner.

Coordinate with the ISW SME and WeldFit Dispatcher to insure awareness of current and upcoming work assignments.

Assimilate all pre‑job data to include welder qualifications and weld procedures and assessment forms prior to starting a project.

Help to identify new opportunities for WeldFit to expand its current service offerings.

Ensure all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved utilizing ISW SME, engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed.

Personal Responsibility

Must maintain a valid insurance policy to cover the Rig Truck as required by law.

Must maintain a valid drivers license with clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

Mobility in plant

Ability to lift at least 45 pounds

Visual hearing abilities with or without correction

Communication Skills

Education/Experience Requirements

Minimum of two years of in‑service welding experience and more than five years of general welding with ASME and API certifications

Required Skills

Proven experience as an in‑service welder

Travel is required remote base location will be considered, will be out of town 60% of time

Esperance with digital devices required cell phone table

Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (SMAW, TIG, MIG etc.)

Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather – heat, cold

Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face‑shield, gloves etc.)

Dexterity and attention to detail

Proficient in English

Successful completion of all relevant company training is required

Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate and or other welding qualifications) will be a plus

Customer Service Skills

Fabrication Skills

Bilingual is a plus

Basic Math Skills, Shop Math Trigonometry

Must pass WeldFit In‑Service welder qualification test with E7016 H4R up‑hill root and E7018 H4R up‑hill fill and cap (Butt and Branch plus Type B water backed sleeve)

Ability to read precision measuring instruments, height gauges, calibration of hand tools
