After training or with experience
Set up machine (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
Test operation of machines periodically
Inspect finished product for any blemishes or discrepancies
Fix issues that might occur during the shift and report to Shop Lead
Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
Keep records of approved and defective units or final products and report to Shop Lead
Maintain activity logs and maintenance logs
Job Requirements Requirements And Skills
Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.)
Understanding of production procedures
Adherence to health & safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals is helpful
Attention to detail is a must
Physical strength and stamina
High School diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
Setting up manufacturing equipment with shop leads
Using machine equipment to complete tasks
Performing routine inspections of assigned equipment
Willing to work overtime when necessary
Evaluating the efficiency of each unit regularly; identifying improvements as needed
