As a Technician at Penske, you’ll conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest and best‑maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.
Location: 201 S Petro Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57107
Main Responsibilities:
Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
Perform preventative maintenance—such as tire replacement or rotation—and component lubrication, some electrical repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
Partner with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
Valid driver’s license and ability to work under DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies.
Excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
Basic computer skills and willingness to pass background, drug, and physical screening.
Ability to work the required schedule, location, and mandatory travel for training.
Physical Requirements:
Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and operate tools or controls.
Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
Work safely in all weather conditions.
Be able to see and hear to navigate the environment safely.
Lift and move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) routinely; occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg) and push/pull heavy truck tires.
Pay & Shift Differentials: Pay: $21.50 per hour. Shift differentials: Second shift starts after 11 a.m. earn $2.50/hour; third shift after 9 p.m. earn $3.50/hour.
Hours: Tuesday – Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
