Marine Technician / Mechanic – Maersk Offshore Wind

Maersk Offshore Wind is hiring an offshore crew for our Wind Turbine Installation Vessel currently under construction at Seatrium Shipyard in Singapore. The vessel is expected to be delivered in Q4 2025.
In this phase, we recruit for key positions to support new‑build operational familiarisation, commissioning of equipment and vessel systems, development of operational procedures and manuals, task plans and risk assessments. The crew will also attend relevant courses for the operation of the vessel.
In subsequent phases, more crew positions will follow, and we expect to have the full marine crew in 2025.
Candidates with experience from offshore wind turbine installation projects, construction vessels, new‑build commissioning, planned maintenance systems, spare parts and procedures will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities The function of Marine Technician involves safe, efficient and cost‑effective operations, performing maintenance, repair and inspection duties around the vessel, including engine‑related duties, as appointed by the Chief Engineer.
Oversee all mechanical system’s maintenance, ensuring vessel equipment is maintained to the highest level of operational standards.
Technical support for mechanical systems to ensure achievement of vessel efficiency and client objectives.
Provide specific focus on systems that keep maintenance operations running effectively and avoid downtime.
Implement and uphold safety and environmental compliance requirements.
Assist the Chief Engineer with effective maintenance procedures and ensure that the Maintenance System is effectively utilised.
Ensure that deck cranes, jacking equipment, cargo elevator (incl. push‑down system), general hydraulic systems, etc. are maintained according to schedule and updated in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and experience with this type of equipment.
Identifying issues with hydraulic/mechanical equipment.
Ensure that inspections are carried out and followed up in accordance with relevant standards.
Assist Crane Supervisor, ETO and Crane operators to ensure efficient operation of deck cranes and other operational equipment.
Qualifications – Experience as Marine Technician
Maintenance of cranes, jacking and hydraulic systems.
Maintenance programmes and maintenance systems.
Superior troubleshooting skills and techniques.
Relevant technical background as Maritime Service Engineer or equivalent.
Minimum Requirements
Basic STCW certificates.
Proficiency in Security Awareness (STCW A‑VI/6‑1).
Medical Certificate (STCW).
Yellow Fever vaccination.
Discharge book.
Preferred Qualifications (Advantage)
HUET – OPITO approved.
CA‑EBS.
Designated Security Duties (STCW A‑VI/6‑2).
Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than FRB.
Banksman slinger.
HDA.
Dangers & goods.
Confined spaces.
Work at heights.
Manual handling.
Boat transfer.
