The Asphalt Base Crew Supervisor is responsible for overseeing base grading, compaction, and preparation prior to paving. This role requires strong leadership in the field, the ability to run equipment, and clear communication with project managers, drivers, and paving crews.
Minimum Requirements (Required)
Valid CDL Class A
Skidsteer expertise
Proven experience working on asphalt or road construction projects
Ability to lead, direct, and motivate a crew
Strong understanding of jobsite safety and workflow
Reliable attendance and ability to work long hours during peak season
Key Responsibilities
Supervise base crew operations on paving projects
Operate skidsteer, grading and base prep
Ensure proper base depth, compaction, and drainage
Coordinate truck deliveries and material placement
Enforce safety procedures and company standards
Communicate daily progress and issues to management
Maintain equipment and report mechanical issues
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in asphalt paving or road construction
Knowledge of compaction methods and grade control
Ability to lead others in a positive and professional manner
Strong problem‑solving skills on active job sites
