Introduction Hi, we are Burlington!! The Burlington operation in Raeford, NC has been proudly producing dress uniform fabric for the US Military for more than 50 years. If you or someone you know has ever served in the US Military, whether in the Army, Air force, Coast Guard, Navy or Marines, they have worn Burlington Raeford fabric. Job Purpose Requires general knowledge of a textile spinning machine. Set up, operate, or tend to machines and equipment to facilitate the ongoing production of textile products. Tending, creeling and doffing of spinning machine.

Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities

Work safely in a fast-paced production environment

Operate high speed sophisticated machinery by managing setting and conducting test to ensure successful machine utilization

Meet or exceed company quality standards

Maintain regular and predictable attendance

Comply with company processes and procedures

Follow verbal and written instructions

Stand, walk lift, bend, stoop and reach while handling material or products

Work cooperatively, courteously, and respectfully with all team members, vendors, and visitors

Perform job duties in variable temperatures based on weather condition (including hot weather)

Ensure good housekeeping of all areas and company premises

Successfully complete drug and background screenings

Knowledge and Skills Required

Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.

Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

Position requires

Standing 8-10 hours per shift on concrete floor

Travels 186' per frame to tend, creel and doff the frame.

Lifting up to 10lbs, package, and push 500lbs on wheels multiple times per shift

Reaching approx. 4500 times/shift with both feet flat on the floor.

Bending and stooping constantly

Walk between machines spaced 36 inches apart

Safety requirements/Environment

Standard hearing/vision tests are given

Personal protective equipment as job elements require (i.e.. Utility knife)

Education/Experience

Experience with spinning machines is required

Must have the ability to read, write and do simple math as determined by the manner in which application is completed.

Must be able to communicate with co-workers and management

Must be able to work assigned work schedule

Pay range Pay range: $14.30 while in training. $15.30+ afterwards, depending on how many machines you can run.
