Automotive Electrical Technician (Tech 1)
Join our elite team as an aftermarket Custom Car Audio and Accessory Electronics Installer. This is an opportunity to showcase your expertise in integrating cutting‑edge technology into custom street performance vehicles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, troubleshooting, and optimizing high‑performance car audio systems, video systems, alarm systems and other electronic enhancements associated with custom interiors. Success in this role is defined by flawless installations, innovative problem‑solving, and an ability to exceed customer expectations.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Lunch: Noon to 1:00 PM
Overtime as needed
To Be Successful A candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new skills on the job, collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, and have experience with laying out and installing custom automotive electrical systems to support the accessory electronics selected for the build. Support the entire system from the powertrain electronics to all user interfaces and other critical systems. We value people wanting to challenge themselves and further their career.
Responsibilities
Install high‑end car audio systems, including amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, and other audio components
Design, layout and fabricate custom surfaces required for interior accessory components
Integrate car alarms, remote start systems, LED lighting, backup cameras, dash cameras, and radar detection systems
Install and integrate electronic systems and controllers including fuel injection (EFI), electronic power steering, digital gauges, air conditioning and electronic brake systems
Provide expert knowledge and advice to customers and sales associates on product choices and installation options
Read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and integrate new systems with existing vehicle electronics, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Troubleshoot and resolve installation and performance issues effectively
Flash modules for remote starts, car alarms, and other integrated systems
Use and understand part lookup tools for installation kits from suppliers like Metra, PAC, and 12VDC Solutions
Collaborate on the design and execution of custom interior concepts for high‑end performance vehicles
Work with the development team to create and maintain build schedules
Skills and Qualifications
5 + years’ of hands‑on experience in automotive 12VDC installation systems
MECP certification is highly preferred, or willingness to become certified within a reasonable timeframe
Experience with Viper remote start and car alarm systems is a plus
Must possess a personal set of specialty tools; additional equipment, including a company laptop, will be provided
Strong background in working with high‑end luxury and performance vehicles
Proven experience in creating, reading, and understanding wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem‑solving
Familiarity with part lookup and installation processes for products from Metra, PAC, and similar companies
3D printing and modeling experience is a plus
Skills in custom fabrication are highly desirable
Experience with stainless, aluminum, and various plastics
Flexibility to learn quickly in a fast‑growing environment with aggressive timelines
A team‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills
Self‑motivation with a focus on delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction
Clean driving record with no accidents or DUI convictions
Ability to lift 40 lb. without aid
