This is for 2nd Shift SUMMARY Performs basic, standardized and repetitive electronic assembly operations, including the tasks of Assemblers, Machine Operators, and possibly QC Inspectors or Solderers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works safely at all times and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices, as well as all other work rules.
Assembler
Operates screw guns, hot air guns, caulk guns, air tooling and fixtures as part of the defined process.
Replenishes stock or parts at the workstation and audits material kits to ensure correct material is available.
Verifies correct documentation for specific boards.
Reports scrap.
Reports downtime and updates Manufacturing Metrics.
Maintains a clean and organized work area using 6S.
Actively participates in team activities and projects, communicates effectively to the team, attends team meetings.
Uses visual aids to correctly insert parts on circuit boards and/or insert completed boards into housings.
Labels boards, fills out process tags, uses a bar code scanner and enters data into MES.
Tests assemblies and subassemblies and monitors test data during testing.
Machine Operator
Ensures the board loader and feeders are continually kept loaded with the correct parts and prepares the next part run by loading feeders for the next run before needed.
Ensures the accuracy and continual operation of automated manufacturing equipment.
Coordinates with other team members to set up machines according to set‑up sheets.
Maintains and loads solder screen printer, inspects solder paste application, and enters data into MES system.
Maintains an orderly work area by tubing fallout parts, cleaning area and machines as needed, and keeping accurate written records and counts of parts produced.
QC Inspector
Inspects product to ensure quality levels at various stages of production.
Determines acceptance or rejection of product by referencing IPC‑A‑610, visual aids, engineering change notices, work instructions and procedures.
Solderer I
Inspects the accuracy of machine and manual placement of parts.
Inspects parts for solderability.
Performs first article checks as required to ensure all components are placed correctly, have the correct polarity and match the Bill‑of‑Materials description.
Repairs defects in line and enters defect data into MES system.
Performs routine and repetitive inspection procedures to ensure quality levels at various stages of production.
Audits material kits to ensure correct material is available, reports scrap and maintains a clean and organized work area.
Actively participates in team activities and projects, communicates effectively to the team, attends team meetings, and displays a high level of teamwork and integrity.
Job Title: Machine Operator (continued) If the employee has the appropriate certifications, they may also perform the roles of QC Inspector or Solderer as described above.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills required (e.g., 8th grade level).
Basic PC skills required (keyboarding, mouse usage, Windows usage, opening and closing programs and files using MS Windows).
Certified in Jabil QC, Solder, and Machine Operator subjects; certifications must be achieved and maintained.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Standing required 100% of the time.
Frequently required to walk, bend, twist, lift and carry equipment up to 30 lbs.
Close vision for observation of finished product, reading drawings, prints, visual aids, etc., and extended use of a computer monitor screen.
Good manual dexterity required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work area is on the manufacturing floor; noise level is normally moderate.
Exposure to machinery with moving parts and high temperature surfaces.
Occasional exposure to low dust/dirt and chemical fumes.
May be required to wear a ventilation mask and protective clothing.
