Flightline Mechanic – Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site (MMS) Airbus is looking for a Flightline Avionics Technician to join our final‑phase team in Mobile, AL.

Meet the Team The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities helps assemble the finest aircraft in the world on two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. Your Working Environment The facility is located on “Airbus Way” at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, opened in 2015 for A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019.

Your Challenges Position Summary Responsible for performing Functional Test Procedure (FTP), Pre & Post Flight inspection to prepare built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness. Operate, test, troubleshoot, repair and inspect aircraft systems using approved aircraft data, test equipment and tooling. Interpret technical manuals, drawings and engineering data.

Primary Responsibilities (70%)

Perform FTP / Pre/Post flight checklist / Daily Inspection (DI) to prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness.

Learn new tasks and techniques to troubleshoot aircraft systems and support Flight line operations.

Troubleshoot malfunctions, rigs, repairs, replacements of aircraft structures, components and systems of moderate difficulty, maintain and rework components including landing gear, flight surfaces, controls, anti‑icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, ventilation, heating and cooling systems and mechanical/Cabin interior components.

Service, repair and prepare documentation in accordance with company procedure and specifications.

Perform post dock maintenance daily checklist, safety and security, incoming inspection.

Perform day‑to‑day planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance families.

Participate actively in development and improvement of family system troubleshooting skills.

Prior experience as Refuel/Defuel, Aircraft Jack and Tow and miscellaneous aircraft services.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities (20%)

Basic knowledge of electrical/mechanical theory and tools such as torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers.

Proficiency in aircraft sealing techniques and sealant characteristics.

Read and interpret aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures (FTP/WO/AMM/IPC/AWD/SB/CMM).

Participate in process improvement, root‑cause analysis, 5S and other tools for quality, safety and cycle time.

Team daily SQCDP project, tool/FOD management.

Work in confined spaces, heights, and outdoor environments.

Support and train other technicians, maintain close working relationship with lead person.

Use a variety of hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment. Examples: Crane, Cherry‑picker, forklift, lifting platform, loading platform.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations regarding confined spaces, respiratory protection, personal PPE.

Work under stressful conditions.

Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualified Experience / Education / Training

3+ years minimum aviation experience, preferably in manufacturing or repair environment.

Valid A&P License.

Valid driver license.

Willingness to work rotation shift schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Valid passport allowing unrestricted travel to Canada.

High School Diploma.

Vocational/Tech School Credential.

Preferred

3+ years experience in a flight‑line environment under FAA/EASA/TCCA regulations.

Technical Systems Proficiency

Read and interpret aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures including AMM, IPC, AWD, SB, CMM.

Physical Requirements

Vision, hearing, speaking adequate for workplace interactions.

Operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts.

Carry up to 40 lbs (18 kg) occasionally.

Lift up to 40 lbs (18 kg) occasionally.

Push/pull items in office areas.

Sit for extended periods at computer and in meetings.

Squat/kneel to retrieve items on lower shelves.

Enter confined spaces (12" x 22") with respirator.

Work at heights up to 40 ft on platforms and lifts.

Stand for extended periods delivering information.

Travel overseas and domestically at times.

Walk through production and flightline areas.
