The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute‑care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life.
Job Summary
Builds, repairs and maintains various facility structures such as furniture, equipment, partitions and other components of the hospital buildings, using hand and power tools according to accepted trade practices and written and oral instructions.
Qualifications
Completion of apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
1 year carpentry experience
Effective communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
Ability to work with wood, metal, concrete, plastics & composite materials
Knowledge of building materials and their uses
Ability to maintain work job site safety and follow established safety rules and regulations as well as maintain a safe and clean environment
Ability to operate various woodworking equipment, machinery and hand tools
