General Summary:

The Behavior Technician directs ABA Therapy to children ages 2-21 years old in the center and in-home environments. The Technician will implement skill acquisition programs and behavior management protocols under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, collecting data on target behaviors and providing comprehensive ABA therapy. Hours and days vary; evening, weekend, and overtime may be required. Travel may be required.

Starting pay:

$21/hr

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

Provide direct 1:1 or small group therapy to children and young adults with autism, consistent with the treatment plan under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor.

Maintain targeted caseload hours of therapy per week.

Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.

Implement treatment plans across multiple domains (communication, social behavior, learner readiness, self-care, replacement behavior, behavior reduction).

Motivate clients by adapting activities to their preferences.

Respond calmly and intentionally to challenging behavior in line with the client's Behavior Intervention Plan.

Assist with assessments (e.g., VBMAPP, ABLLS) when properly trained and supervised.

Maintain order and safety among clients in the therapy environment.

Assist other personnel with related tasks to support operations of the therapy center.

Provide session coverage for clients as needed.

Participate in staff meetings, team meetings, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Participate in and complete training sessions and assignments.

Complete daily activities/routines in the center (opening/closing procedures, cleaning, organization, session materials).

Collect and maintain accurate records through an online data collection platform and ensure billing.

Travel to home and community settings may be required.

Provide toilet training and diaper changing as needed.

Uphold and maintain BYS core principles, policies, and procedures.

Include Demonstrated Competencies And Physical, Mental, & Interpersonal Skills

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Bachelor's degree and/or enrolled in a related field preferred.

High interest and willingness to learn about children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Eagerness to learn about Applied Behavior Analysis and grow as a Behavioral Technician.

Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards.

Knowledge of sensory and behavioral strategies preferred.

Excellent communication skills with clients, parents, and team members.

Ability to work effectively under changing priorities and deadlines.

Strong time management and multitasking abilities.

Professionalism and reliability.

Proficiency with iPad and Microsoft Office products.

Environmental Conditions/ Physical Requirements

Reliable transportation is required.

May regularly lift/pull/push/up to 50 pounds.

Physical ability to move quickly, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, twist, walk, sit, stand, and reach for prolonged periods.

Must respond quickly in case of emergency.

Must be able to assess safety and security factors.

Hours may vary; evening, weekend, and overtime may be required.

Position requires prolonged computer use and extended screen time.

Work in environments with elevated noise levels.
