Litigation Paralegal Under the direction and supervision of Management, the Litigation Paralegal provides paraprofessional legal support to attorneys and clients in all stages of the litigation process to ensure timely management and progression of the file while striving to exceed our client expectations through diligence and efficiencies. This position is ideally a hybrid position with 2 to 3 days per week on‑site. This position reports directly to the Manager of Litigation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Enter pertinent information into client files such as MVA details, insurance, property damage and medical providers.

Fully investigate each case and document findings in Filevine.

Maintain contact with clients at a minimum of every 30 days and as needed.

Verify all potential insurance coverage and maintain contact with all insurance carriers.

Manage medical care of clients including requesting all medical and billing documentation.

Understand and explain litigation process to clients.

Manage, monitor and maintain attorney’s calendar by docketing meetings, court dates, hearings and trials.

Prepare case specific documents, correspondences, and demand letters, etc.

Draft and file Notices, Motions, Subpoenas, & responses to Discovery requests.

Manage and process all correspondence to and from clients, insurance carriers, medical providers, etc.

Maintain demand and mediation packages, IME’s, claim status updates to clients, insurance carriers and lien holders/medical providers and opposing counsel.

Relay settlement negotiation from attorney to clients and adjusters utilizing demands/offers in client file.

Collect documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills, subrogation liens, loss of income and property damage.

Organize and maintain case files within Filevine.

Maintain and update files using case checklist in Filevine so as to work each file at least every 2‑3 weeks.

Any tasks as communicated by management.

This position can be remote, with paid travel for trial.

This position allows for some remote work but is ideally a hybrid role in the Indianapolis office.

Requirements

Degree (Bachelor’s or Associates) and/or paralegal certificate a plus

5 or more years of plaintiff litigation paralegal experience required

Must be familiar with relevant laws as it applies to personal injury claims, motor vehicle accidents, premise liability and insurance within Indiana and Federal Court Districts

Experience with Commercial Vehicles/Trucking is a plus

Familiarity with state agency regulations

Must have knowledge of state and federal court procedures and e‑filing

Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Must be able to prioritize work, juggle multiple activities and work under pressure

Must be well organized and detail oriented

Must have strong work ethic and be able to work well in a fast‑paced environment

Must have excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including strong writing skills, as the position requires a great deal of client communication

Must be proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other office tools, including e‑discovery software and document management platforms

Knowledge of the firm’s document management program, Filevine, is a plus

Knowledge of medical terms and traumatically induced conditions is helpful

Knowledge of insurance coverage types and policies is helpful
