Job Description POSITION PURPOSE (ELECTROTECH 1): Troubleshoot and repair assemblies, subassemblies, products, and/or systems.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Educated in the theory of electronics and have the ability to apply this theory in discussion with engineers in a manufacturing environment

Interpret schematics and assembly diagrams and apply the knowledge in component‑level troubleshooting and repair of product

Screw, solder, cement, press fits, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place

Mount assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on a printed circuit board

Data collection as required

Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases with understanding of test procedures

Qualifications (ELECTROTECH 1)

Education/Certification: Associate’s degree in electronics or equivalent military or industry experience; competency in electronics theory

Required Knowledge:

Understanding of the use of test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power meters, signal generators, etc.

Competent in electronics theory

Competent through‑hole and surface‑mount soldering ability

Experience Required:

Understanding of electronics principles as it pertains to troubleshooting electronics

Must be able to translate electronic schematics

Skills/Abilities:

Solid communication skills and ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels

Solid practical skills in electronics manufacturing, schematic reading abilities, troubleshooting skills and use of common tools

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Repetitive motions: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers

Average visual abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery

Physical strength: Physically active position, climbing ladder, lifting boxes (up to 30 lbs), pushing carts, stooping and bending
