Overview The Senior Blow Molding Process Technician is responsible for being the subject matter expert (SME) for all blow molding machines to produce high-quality products and reduce down-time. This role involves troubleshooting, process optimization and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Owns, manages and plans Blow Molding activities such as process validation, controls and procedures, part design, tool optimization, operation and maintenance of equipment
Develops and updates standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all blow molding machines
Performs training from the last update of SOPs
Process ownership and compliance including but not limited to: air compressors, air settings, chiller and water temperatures, blender settings, parison air settings and position, knock out rod inspection, IMLs
Plans and reviews daily, weekly, monthly preventative maintenance
Manages mold maintenance, repair and refurbishment processes, and tracks units produced and repair documentation
Reviews and follows up on quality data to make necessary machine adjustments, ensuring bottles produced are within specifications
Performs mechanical troubleshooting to ensure machines run efficiently
Performs operator functions such as adjusting machine settings and setting up molds
Operates and maintains blow molding machines when necessary
Completes required paperwork for accurate production when operating machines
Ensures blow molding machines are operating in a safe, efficient manner
Supports organization-wide initiatives including but not limited to spares, corporate support, bottle profile
Maintains a clean and safe work environment
Other duties as assigned, based on operational needs or special projects
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
5+ years blow molding or plastic manufacturing experience in a manufacturing facility
Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
5+ Advanced mechanical troubleshooting skills – mechanical aptitude and ability to operate complex machinery
Proficiency of precision machining and measuring tools
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
Ability and willingness to work as team member to perform training and constant coaching of operators; people oriented
Able to travel with short term notice (5%)
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years blow molding or plastic manufacturing experience in a manufacturing facility
10+ Advanced mechanical troubleshooting skills – mechanical aptitude and ability to operate complex machinery
Bilingual a plus (English and Spanish)
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Must be able to go up and down stairs and ladders frequently
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
Ability to operate a forklift and walk behind liftMust be able to stand for the majority of the shift
Use a variety of hand tools and precision measurement tools
Exposure to heat, noise and plastic resin odors
The production facility is within an indoor industrial environment and is not climate controlled
Pay Range $25 - $40 per hour
Benefits Eligible for medical, dental, vision benefits 1st of month after 30 days of employment
