Scope Of Position In this role, you will support and/or lead a variety of engineering projects at Oneonta’s Life Science manufacturing facility. Projects may include cost reduction initiatives, compliance upgrades, equipment & process upgrades, and deployment of new products. You will closely collaborate with the engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure project success, with strong emphasis on developing and maintaining thorough and accurate documentation throughout all phases of project execution. This role offers dynamic opportunities to work across multiple types of projects, contributing to process improvements, lean initiatives, and compliance upgrades. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, adaptable, and eager to drive process improvement initiatives that align with the facility’s operational and business goals.
Day To Day Responsibilities
Create, update, and maintain detailed technical documentation, including SOPs, workplace layouts, JSAs, change controls, and training materials to support engineering projects and initiatives.
Facilitate and support change management processes, ensuring thorough and systematic implementation of product and process modifications to meet quality standards.
Lead efforts related to new product introduction and regulatory upgrades, ensuring successful integration into manufacturing processes and compliance with standards.
Collaborate with project teams for experiment and validation testing, analyzing data, and preparing clear reports with actionable recommendations.
Take ownership of project tasks, driving collaboration and alignment across stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and timely execution of initiatives.
Track project milestones and production targets, supporting project management efforts to ensure successful execution of deliverables.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm; 40+ hours weekly
Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines or critical milestones
This is an on-site position
Education & Experience
Associates degree (2-year) preferred
3+ years of experience in technical writing or change management
Experience in technical or manufacturing environments a strong bonus
Required Skills
Strong technical writing skills to produce detailed and accurate documentation, including SOPs, change controls, and training materials.
Knowledge of quality management system and ability to support change management processes in a thorough and systematic manner.
Technical aptitude conducive to interpreting product design requirements and facilitating change management for production implementation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Effective collaboration and communication skills to work cross functionally with production, engineering, commercial, quality and other departments.
Flexibility to work within a dynamic team and provide training to others.
Demonstrated problem‑solving skills in fast‑paced environments.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired Skills
Experience with electronic quality change management systems (ETQ Reliance)
Familiarity with reading and interpreting product drawings, prints, and specifications.
Experience with metrology tools and techniques.
Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Compensation and Benefits The range for this position is $69,966.00 - $96,203.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
