About the Board: The Hamilton‑Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) serves approximately 50,000 students across 84 elementary schools, 13 secondary schools, and 1 Adult Learning Centre.
About the Position We are hiring Secondary Technical Education teachers specifically trained in construction, manufacturing, transportation, and cosmetology.
Qualifications & Requirements
Certified by the Ontario College of Teachers (in good standing). Candidates with Transitional Certificates welcome to apply.
Secondary Teachers must hold Technology qualifications in Intermediate AND Senior divisions.
Skill sets, education, lived experiences, backgrounds and various work/volunteer experience that may be considered valuable to the position.
Commitment to building inclusive and accessible learning and working environments where every student sees themselves reflected in the curriculum, classrooms, and schools.
Availability and commitment to work a minimum of 10 full days per school year.
Additional Assets
Experience working with diverse communities, in high‑priority schools, and/or abroad.
Additional AQs.
Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
Ability and willingness to contribute to a fulsome school community through participation in cocurricular activities, events and/or committees.
Hourly Rate Daily rate of pay starts at $289.47 (includes 4% vacation pay). Individual wage for Long‑Term Occasional work is based on related experience in the trade, which will determine your level of credit received on the salary grid.
Location Hamilton and surrounding Region (Ancaster, Binbrook, Dundas, Flamborough, Waterdown, Stoney Creek/Winona)
