G.A. West & Co. is seeking a Safety Coordinator for a project in Apple Grove, WV. This assignment is expected to last 3+ years.

Responsibilities

Lead in promoting company safety culture

Monitor all safety issues and concerns, and ensure standards of safety are adhered to

Verify all work is performed in compliance with company EH&S program and contract safety specifications

Assist in the monitoring of subcontractor safety performance

Conduct regular jobsite and work area inspections, noting safety violations and corrective actions

Thoroughly investigate all incidents (including near miss, injury, property damage, general liability) immediately and perform root cause analysis

Perform risk assessments and develop safety protocols

Lead safety trainings and meetings

Prepare and submit JSAs, investigative reports, reprimands, etc.

Assist project teams in identifying hazards and implementing controls

Immediately address safety violations at job site(s)

Assist Project Superintendents in establishing, implementing, and monitoring jobsite emergency action plans.

Work with Superintendents and Project Managers to obtain and manage required safety documents, signage, and equipment for all assigned job sites

Verify all workers have the necessary training for the tasks they are performing.

Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and 5 years of experience is preferred. A combination of knowledge and field experience will be considered.

Must have an OSHA 30

Must be willing to travel

Perdiem is available for those who qualify.
