Job Summary Operate and maintain punch press and laser cutting equipment to produce parts according to specifications. Ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency while following safety standards and established procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
Set up and operate punch press and laser cutting machines based on job requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and process sheets to determine material, dimensions, and tolerances.
Load and unload materials, ensuring proper alignment and secure positioning.
Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and precision.
Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
Complete required documentation for production and quality control.
Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and improve processes.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist in troubleshooting machine or process issues.
Move materials using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift or hand truck).
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Support other production areas as needed.
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Experience operating punch press and/or laser cutting equipment preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine setup and adjustments.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform frequent standing, bending, and manual tasks.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Willingness to adhere to safety practices and wear required protective gear.
