The Technician role is a vital position at Scruggs Automotive, responsible for completing the repairs and services sold by the service Advocate. In addition to performing the work on customer vehicles, this role also involves inspecting vehicles to identify necessary repairs and services, which the service team will present to customers. Responsibilities

Comprehensive Vehicle Diagnostics:

Use advanced diagnostic tools to accurately identify and troubleshoot issues across all major vehicle systems. High-Quality Repairs and Maintenance:

Perform precise repairs and thorough maintenance in line with manufacturer standards and industry best practices. Customer Interaction and Service:

Communicate clearly with customers to explain services, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction through honest and helpful support. Precision and Quality Control:

Conduct post-repair inspections and tests to verify repair quality, maintaining detailed service records. Thorough Documentation of Work:

Provide transparent service documentation, including detailed notes and photos of parts and vehicle condition, shared with the customer. Collaboration with Team Members:

Cooperate with co-workers to ensure efficient repairs, mentor junior staff, and contribute to team improvement efforts. Continuous Learning and Certification:

Pursue ongoing training and certifications to stay current with evolving automotive technologies and standards. Adherence to Safety Protocols:

Follow all safety procedures, use protective gear, and ensure a safe, hazard-free work environment. Efficient Workflow and Time Management:

Prioritize and manage tasks efficiently to complete services on time and minimize resource waste. Inventory and Tool Management:

Maintain tools and manage parts inventory to support repair efficiency and minimize downtime. Compliance with Environmental Regulations:

Handle hazardous materials and adopt eco-friendly practices in compliance with environmental laws. Personal Appearance and Uniforms:

Uphold a clean, professional appearance by wearing the approved company uniform and following dress standards. Qualifications

Minimum 1-year of practical experience working as a technician in an automobile repair facility. Candidate must be ASE-Certified, and hold New York State Inspector License, and AC Certification. Advanced knowledge of passenger automobile systems and operations with expertise in vehicle diagnostics. Advanced skills in mechanical repairs and services, including removing and reinstalling parts. Strong verbal and written skills, while being able to clearly explain technical information to customers in an understandable manner Proficiency in using computers and diagnostics tools for vehicle diagnosis, repair instruction lookup, and accessing Customer Management Software. Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs without assistance and stand for periods of up to 60 minutes at a time. Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License, be insurable on the shop insurance policy, and be able to drive a vehicle with passengers.
