About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented full time Mechanic to specialize in Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) Ramp and Accessibility System Repairs. This role focuses on ensuring WAV ramps, lifts, and related accessibility components are safe, reliable, and fully compliant, supporting daily fleet operations and rider safety.
Key Responsibilities
Preventative Inspections & Repairs
Inspect, diagnose, and repair vans and WAV ramps.
Perform preventative maintenance on accessibility systems to reduce downtime and failures.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic ramp issues.
Complete repairs promptly to return vehicles to Road Ready status.
Documentation and Communication
Document all work orders, inspections, and repairs accurately in fleet management systems.
Coordinate with Fleet Supervisors and Managers on repair priorities and part needs.
Uphold Safety Measures
Ensure all repairs meet safety, ADA and regulatory standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
General Skills & Qualifications
ASE Certification is
REQUIRED .
Prior experience working on WAV ramps, lifts, or accessibility systems are strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to diagnose issues efficiently and perform high-quality repairs.
Familiarity with Fleet Maintenance environments is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement in learning.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and showcase the ability to take initiative, value collaboration, and become highly adaptable.
Must be highly organized.
Be able to quickly learn new applications, softwares, and dashboards as adopted and used within the company.
Must have an active driver’s license and be approved on the company’s insurance.
Ability to lift equipment, work in varying conditions, and stand for extended periods.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities
