The Quality Control Services Technician is responsible for ensuring all products (incoming and outgoing) meet quality release standards and responds to ‘out of specification’ conditions through investigation and setup of extended testing.**Job Duties:*** Verify that Preventive Controls were performed for all finished product prior to approval for release.* Employees in this role are considered Qualified Individuals under Select Custom Solutions’ Food Safety Plan.* Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure the Corrective Actions do not impact finished product food safety or food quality.* Create finished product Certificates of Analysis and approve finished product release.* Review third party reports and enter test results into the Quality Control Operations Management Portal.* Follow up on any delayed or late results.* Communicate ingredient and finished product laboratory test results to Customer Experience, Sales, Innovation, Production, Warehouse, and Quality Assurance as necessary to meet shipment deadlines or contribute to projects.* Daily direct dialogue with internal and external laboratories.* Lead investigations for out of specification laboratory tests.* Communicate directly with key customers for specification changes, production/ process deviations, out of specification conditions, and exceptional release of finished product.* Compile information and generating reports to be approved by the customer.* Enter hold records into the Hold Management database for raw ingredients, finished goods, and expired products.* Assist with the creation of new and existing bulk material and finished product specifications.* Interpret Change Control requests and update supporting documentation as necessary.*This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.***Qualifications:****Education Required:*** Associate’s Degree in a Scientific field required.* Bachelor’s Degree in a Scientific field preferred.* Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.**Experience Required:*** Minimum two (2) years of laboratory experience preferred.* Knowledge of the operation of laboratory equipment required.**Where you’ll be working:**Our La Crosse, WI, plant is home to approximately 330 employees. This facility supplies the food, beverage, and nutritional industries with innovative functional ingredients and superior quality contract manufacturing services.La Crosse, WI, is nestled between the Mississippi River and the rolling river bluffs.
