Swiss Screw Machinist
Location: 3617 E La Salle St, Phoenix, AZ 85040 (40th St and Southern) Shift options: Day shift OR Night shift Responsibilities
Operate CNC machines without oversight, running proven production and NPI jobs. Process troubleshooting for all jobs running in the department. Set up any job including NPI and demonstrate proper setup techniques, loading, indicating, touch off of all tooling. Load programs and verify correct operation, revision, etc. First piece buy-off. Modify speeds and feeds and conduct process improvements to increase quality and cycle time reductions. Mentor and train process operators regarding process operation and process quality. Train level 1 and 2 machinists on equipment, inspection, tooling, etc. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Complete understanding of CNC controls including G & M program codes. Tool management: enter offsets to compensate for tool wear, replace worn and damaged tools (inserts, boring bars, end mills, drills, etc.). Read and understand B/P’s including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, GD&T, and other standard nomenclature per customer, government, or industry standards. Use basic inspection, measuring and test equipment to verify machined dimensions. Working knowledge of dial bore gages, air gages, intertest gages, etc. In-process inspection of machined parts. Record inspection data at prescribed intervals per the inspection traveler or other company paperwork. Fill out MOT and job routers, maintain correct part counts on the MOT for the operations performed. Tag hardware and record discrepancies on proper paperwork for hardware known to be discrepant. Notify lead personnel upon discovery. Communicate any job related issues/questions to lead personnel for resolution or clarification. Report all machine collisions and malfunctions to lead personnel. Adhere to all company and industry safety standards and protocols. Understand industry buy-off requirements, company specific handling & FOD requirements, product identification requirements, fill out company paperwork properly (MOT, Inspection Travelers, Job Sheets, etc.). Bar Loader: Clean loader and maintain correct oil level; load bar material is labeled with correct job#; remove bar remnants from last job ran; change out channels, pusher, flag, and J-Rings to fit next job bar size requirement; input all data necessary into bar loader, bar stock, channel size, part length, and set end of bar when setting up next job; make sure all sensors are working correctly; return all channels, pusher, and J-Rings from previous job to correct storage location in department; maintain correct oil level in high pressure oil pump. Experience / Training Required
Ability to use computer software, company ERP system, clocking in and out of jobs, etc. 5+ years’ experience running CNC lathes. Complete understanding G & M codes for Fanuc based programming. Good understanding of GD&T and industry standards of inspection. Must be able to stand for the majority of the work shift. Requirements
Minimum High School Diploma or trade school. Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the US. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand majority of the shift. Benefits
