Summary
Certified Sterile Processing Technician cleans, sterilizes, assembles and stores items in a sterile environment, orders supplies, maintains par levels, stocks department. Responsibilities
Decontaminates, disinfects and thoroughly cleans supplies, instruments, equipment used with patients. Assembles supplies, instruments, basin sets used in a variety of clinical settings, wraps and prepares all items for sterilization with appropriate labeling, uses appropriate sterilization method based on manufacturer’s guidelines, ensures parameters of sterilization are met. Ensures code blue carts are stocked and ready for use and other hospital equipment is cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines, pulls case carts with all available supplies and instrumentation to ensure patient needs are met, manages supplies within the department to provide safe and efficient care. Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution through CBSPD or Certification in Surgical Technology through NBSTSA. Job Details
