Position Summary

The Electrical Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance on active construction sites and in homes that have already closed and are now occupied by homeowners. This position involves interpreting blueprints, performing field diagnostics, troubleshooting electrical systems, and adhering to code compliance. The technician will serve as a field representative of IES Residential, working directly on our projects, and providing exceptional service and technical expertise. Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential or commercial construction environments, including post-construction service in homeowner-occupied residences. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics. Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform field diagnostics using tools such as multimeters and circuit testers. Run conduit and wire per NEC standards (PVC, EMT, MC, Romex, etc.). Mount electrical panels, outlets, junction boxes, switches, and fixtures. Perform service calls, repairs, and inspections to resolve electrical issues quickly and effectively. Coordinate with general contractors, construction managers, and other trades on job site activities. Follow safety protocols and comply with OSHA regulations and local electrical codes. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working condition. Complete job documentation accurately, including service reports and materials used. Minimum Education

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent field experience. At least 2 years of experience in the electrical construction or service field preferred. Skills:

Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and work orders. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or on a crew. Customer-focused with a professional demeanor. Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment. Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, or in confined spaces. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Travel to various job sites within a designated region may be required. License Required
