Description Assists with the tailings, crushed leach and water team with data collection and monitoring activities, maintenance and surveillance items, engineering projects, and support daily operations at an assigned site.
Performs field work and collects monitoring data.
Manages data and assists with problem-solving that may require basic theories and engineering fundamentals.
Utilizes computer program to organize data, document field activities and develop reports.
Manages workflows for activities listed in the Operations, Maintenance and Surveillance Manual
Manages routine QA/QC activities for engineering projects
Assists with specification and procedure development and implementation
Performs evaluation and troubleshooting of installed instruments and develops monitoring equipment specification and calibration
Organizes and maintains accurate and current project documentation
Oversees with survey and GPS mapping
Oversees survey layout and field review of tailings engineering projects
Organize and provide training on the operation and maintenance of equipment
Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience in an engineering or technical area relevant to the assignment or in the mining industry
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
Skilled in safely using, maintaining, and repairing specialized equipment
Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Experience working in the mining or construction industry
Aptitude for computers and/or electronics
Advanced knowledge of specialized equipment, methods and techniques appropriate to assignment, including GIS/GPS mapping techniques and drone surveying
Experience in installation of water level measurement equipment for data collection
Experience in safely deploying, maintaining and repairing specialized equipment for the purpose of tailings dam monitoring
Experience and proficiency in data validation and troubleshooting information from monitoring wells, piezometers, inclinometers and GPS
Criteria/Conditions:
This is a safety sensitive role
Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the workday
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

What We Offer You
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $24.00 - $32.00/hour.
This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
