This position supervises and participates in the work of a crew of personnel engaged in public works infrastructure and grounds maintenance and repair duties.
MAJOR DUTIES
Supervises a crew of personnel engaged in street maintenance, drainage system maintenance, street sign maintenance, right-of-way maintenance, and other public works maintenance activities.
Trains, assigns, and supervises assigned crew members; coordinates work assignments and assigns crew members to equipment.
Operates a variety of equipment as required to perform street and other public works maintenance.
Transports equipment and materials to and from work sites.
Establishes safety zones at work sites and enforces safety policies and procedures.
Responds to after-hours emergencies.
Completes work orders in computer system; enters time, personnel, and equipment used for each project.
Responds to questions, complaints, and concerns from the public.
Responds to storm and other natural disasters and coordinates clean up and repair activities.
Supervises and participates in the installation of holiday decorations and in the preparation for special events.
