About the Role Sounders Truck Repair is actively hiring a skilled and motivated
Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic
to join our growing team. This role specializes in
post-accident truck and trailer repairs
and ongoing
fleet maintenance . Your work will directly impact the safety, reliability, and uptime of our commercial fleet and client vehicles.
Responsibilities Post-Accident Repairs:
Diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers damaged in collisions. Restore structural, mechanical, and electrical components to full working order.
Fleet Maintenance:
Perform scheduled inspections and preventive services to keep vehicles in top condition and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
Engine Rebuilds:
Rebuild or recondition diesel engines to OEM standards, especially those affected in accidents.
Diagnostics:
Use advanced tools and software to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines, with heightened attention to post-accident repair protocols.
Repair Documentation:
Keep accurate service logs and parts records, especially for insurance claim support after accidents.
Team Collaboration:
Communicate with mechanics, managers, and drivers to coordinate repairs and prioritize work efficiently.
Emergency Response:
Respond to urgent breakdowns and roadside issues to limit fleet downtime.
Qualifications Experience:
3–5 years of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with experience in accident recovery and body/frame repairs.
Technical Skills:
Strong command of diagnostic systems, diesel engines, brake and suspension systems, transmissions, and hydraulics.
Physical Requirements:
Capable of lifting heavy equipment, working in tight areas, and being on your feet for extended periods.
Attention to Detail:
Ability to perform high-quality work under pressure, particularly after accident-related damage.
Languages:
Proficiency in English, Russia, and/or Ukrainian is an advantage.
Certifications:
CDL A and/or ASE certification is a plus.
