A Brief Overview
As a Facilities Engineer Technician you are responsible for supporting the efficient operation, maintenance, and improvement of building equipment, systems, and infrastructure under the guidance of senior facilities staff. This role assists with facility projects, documentation, preventive maintenance programs, and compliance activities to support safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements. The position collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot issues, support maintenance programs, and assist with safety and sustainability initiatives.
What You Will Do
Project & Program Management and Reliability Assurance: Assist with the implementation of new, improved, and/or expanded facilities equipment and processes for new and existing operations. Support project scheduling, basic cost tracking, documentation, and coordination with vendors and contractors. Assist with maintaining documentation such as design specifications, test plans, protocols, and qualification records. Support troubleshooting efforts for repetitive facility-related issues affecting manufacturing and office operations. Participate in continuous improvement activities related to facility documentation and procedures. Perform system inspections and reliability checks under supervision.
Records and Program Compliance / Electronic Records Management: Assist with maintaining facilities records in compliance with cGMP, FDA, ISO, OSHA, and local code requirements. Support access control system updates and documentation under direction. Assist with collecting and organizing data used for annual capital planning. Support maintenance programs by updating work orders and documentation in CMMS. Ensure maintenance records are completed and filed accurately and on time. Assist the Quality Department with facility-related investigations under supervision.
General Responsibilities: Support compliance efforts related to local, state, and federal facility regulations. Participate in energy reduction, sustainability, and productivity improvement initiatives. Assist with managing relationships with external service providers through coordination and documentation. Support the site Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Management System. Provide daily support to Facilities Technicians as needed.
Associate of Engineering (A.E.) A related technical discipline required
less than 1 year Experience in facilities engineering, building systems maintenance, manufacturing, utilities, or related technical field.
Internship, co-op, apprenticeship, or military technical experience accepted.
Basic exposure to HVAC systems, electrical distribution, or building systems.
Familiarity with maintenance programs and CMMS preferred.
Basic understanding of OSHA, building codes, and environmental compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to a cGMP or regulated manufacturing environment
Exposure to a cGMP or regulated manufacturing environment
Technical & Functional Skills
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn facility systems.
Basic troubleshooting ability.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Ability to support multiple small tasks and projects simultaneously.
Working knowledge of basic cGMP, FDA, and ISO facility requirements.
Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision plans.
