The ability to interpret dysrhythmias and respond quickly and appropriately in the notification of nursing staff is essential. Some record keeping and posting of rhythm strips may be required. This position is also responsible for working as a team member within the Non-Invasive Cardiology area to perform electrocardiographs. This position is also responsible for the clerical operation of the EKG area. Clerical functions include preparation of data for physician interpretation, transcription, filing and reporting to the medical record.**Education / Experience**:High School diploma or equivalent required. Prior training in EKG rhythm strip interpretation preferred. Successful completion of an EKG interpretation course and able to score 85% on rhythm strip exam required within 6 weeks in position.**License / Certification**: BLS required**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

• Ability to interact with customers, peers, physicians, and other hospital staff in a professional manner.

• Possesses interpersonal skills

• Ability to communicate appropriately, verbal or written**Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**:Position requires sitting for 80% of the workday and mobility 20% of the workday.

There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.

Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.

There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.

Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.

Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.

Much exposure to computer work.

Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.

Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
