Description Kierland Golf Club is looking for a Head Mechanic!
Duties: Ensures that mechanical repairs are performed on a variety of gasoline and diesel power equipment in a timely and precise manner.
Ensures that all equipment is kept in efficient and operable condition at all times.
Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies.
Places orders for parts/supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks expenses utilizing Hotshop purchasing system and Toro MyTurf program.
Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses, and repairs any mechanical defects and performs regular grinding/sharpening, general overhaul of motors/reels, etc.
Tracks and monitors fuel consumption including biweekly inspections.
Responsible for organization and maintenance of work area including shop building and surrounding compound.
Responsible for training and supervising Assistant Mechanics in all facets of equipment maintenance and repair.
Communicates regularly and effectively with DOA and other resort Managers.
Responsible to: Director of Agronomy
Requirements:
Certificate from college or technical school or 3 years of related experience.
Valid Driver's License required.
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Welding work and fabrication experience in making fittings used in repair of maintenance equipment.
Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls.
Occasionally sits, climbs or balances.
Regularly talks or hears.
Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally may lift up to 100 pounds.
Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions; with toxic or caustic materials; in extreme cold or heat; may experience vibration.
Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens.
Frequently works in areas near moving mechanical parts. Noise level can be loud.
