Manual/CNC Machinist – Emerson
A Manual/CNC Machinist role within the Emerson team in Pasadena, TX, involves fabricating Fisher OEM control valve parts using a variety of machining techniques and equipment and repairing parts from the field to meet OEM specifications.
Responsibilities
Maintain personal safety and ensure safety for others while keeping excellent housekeeping standards.
Set up, indicate, and machine raw material (bar stock, forgings, and castings) to manufacture Fisher parts to OEM print dimensions.
Cross‑train on all machines to prevent lapses in production flow, including but not limited to engine lathes, manual drills, horizontal bandsaws, CNC lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and CNC mills.
Understand material hardness, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements, and machining techniques.
Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) per part drawings.
Field assignments may be required, including in‑line machine work and occasional travel.
Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Mechanical‑related associate’s degree or 7+ years of machining and fabricating experience.
Minimum 5 years of full‑cycle machining experience, including programming, setup, and operation of machines.
Working knowledge of CAD/CAM (MasterCam) and SolidWorks modeling.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer‑relations skills.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Welding knowledge.
Experience in the process control industry.
Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process‑related problems.
