Monitors wastewater treatment system operations; reads charts and gauges; notes operational problems; and recommends adjustments to maintain system balance.
Inspects pumps, sump pumps, ventilators, and air supplies; primes pumps as needed.
Following proper procedures, gathers samples at appropriate sampling points and records information; and performs basic laboratory tests as needed.
Performs a variety of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks; cleans and monitors the operations of automated and manual equipment.
Assists senior operators/staff in the maintenance and repair of water and sewer systems.
Assists in preparing reports and records for the Safe Drinking Water Act and EPA regulations and standards.
Assists with performing meter readings for water distribution.
Performs water service access or restrictions as required.
Gains knowledge of methods and equipment common to operational maintenance and construction of public water and wastewater systems.
Maintains the facility in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
Uses a variety of testing equipment following related procedures.
Safely operates a variety of equipment and hand power tools.
Maintains a variety of detailed records and reports related to wastewater system operations.
Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment ensuring proper functioning and preventing breakdowns.
Follows safety procedures and protocols including handling chemicals and working in potentially hazardous environments.
Responds to emergencies, such as equipment malfunctions or extreme weather events to maintain system operation.
Communicates with supervisor, coworkers and other Wind River Family and Community Health Care (WRFCHC) staff regarding plant operations, emergencies, or conditions.
Communicates with the public as needed regarding plant operations or emergencies.
Other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the department.
