Your Opportunity Lead bridge inspection teams as needed; perform inspections, write and review inspection reports; assist with rehabilitation and design projects; and assist with load rating projects.
Conduct hands‑on structural inspections of bridges and other transportation‑related structures throughout Mississippi, Louisiana, and the United States according to the Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory (SNBI).
Office duties include managing inspection projects, bridge design and load rating calculations, and developing rehabilitation plans.
Your Key Responsibilities
Assist with managing bridge inspection projects including coordination with clients and inspection teams, performing field and office quality control, and performing bridge inspections.
Perform bridge design, rehabilitation and load rating tasks on assigned bridge projects.
Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
Participate and collaborate in project team settings, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues and solutions to others.
Create and interpret sketches, drawings, and various structures.
Assist other offices with bridge inspection, rehabilitation, and load rating tasks.
Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Thorough understanding of codes, legal, design, and inspection requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Office and AssetWise (or equivalent).
Knowledge of relevant design software (BrR, MDX, LEAP, CSI Bridge, etc.).
Ability to travel in/out of office periodically (15‑30%).
Ability to climb ladders, walk on uneven slopes, and work at heights.
Ability to operate mechanical access equipment (snooper, manlift, platform truck, etc.).
Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree a plus.
Professional Engineer license(s) or ability to obtain within 1 year.
Four or more years of bridge engineering, bridges inspection or related/combined experience.
Completed 2‑week NHI Course No. 130055, or the 5‑day NHI Course No. 130056.
Successful completion of NHI Course No. 130078 a plus.
Experience with rope access/climbing inspection methods a plus.
Typical office environment involves working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
