Job Overview Yearout Mechanical, a Legence Company, is a New Mexico‑based mechanical contractor specializing in the installation and maintenance of mechanical and HVAC systems for commercial, government, manufacturing and industrial customers in New Mexico and Texas.

We are looking for an experienced HVAC/R Service Technician to work from our Albuquerque office. The role involves diagnosing and repairing a wide range of equipment, installing new systems, and coordinating multiple jobs while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary customer contact for assigned projects, ensuring high‑quality service and prompt communication of updates.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC/R equipment, including small‑tonnage packaged units, large VAV units up to 120 tons, boilers, water pumps, VRF systems, and chilled/water loop components.

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and building layouts to plan installation and repair work.

Coordinate with project teams to schedule and execute on‑site work, ensuring materials and equipment are available and operations run smoothly.

Maintain safety and security standards, recording tool use, wear, and equipment conditions.

Work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or weekend work, as project demands require.

Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working at elevated heights.

Required Skills

Proficient troubleshooting and repair of HVAC/R systems.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Basic hand‑tool proficiency (tape measure, hand drill, calculator).

Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Capacity to work on diverse project types, including industrial environments.

Qualifications

High‑school diploma or equivalent.

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Minimum of 3 years of HVAC/R service experience (specific experience with VAV, VRF, boilers, and water‑loop systems preferred).
