PDS Tech Commercial, partnering with a distinguished name in the automotive industry, is seeking a qualified
Forklift Mechanic
to join its Montgomery operations. This critical role supports the operational readiness and safety of industrial equipment and provides both hands‑on mechanical service and logistical support across client sites.
Role Overview As a Forklift Mechanic, you will be directly responsible for the comprehensive maintenance and repair of LPG and electric forklifts. Your work will support not only mechanical performance but also customer satisfaction and workplace safety. The role encompasses equipment diagnostics, preventative maintenance, emergency response, and technical documentation, positioning you as an integral contributor to both facility operations and client service excellence.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting (70%)
Perform transport, inspection, repair, and scheduled maintenance of forklifts at both company and customer locations.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues using computerized tools and technical schematics.
Execute major repairs on components such as transmissions, engines, and power systems with minimal oversight.
Provide occasional IT support related to forklift operation systems.
Operational & Facility Support (20%)
Assist the Operations Service Manager with procurement coordination and emergency response.
Maintain clean, organized, and OSHA‑compliant workspaces to uphold safety and efficiency standards.
Documentation & Continuous Development (10%)
Complete and upload service inspection checklists; accurately document maintenance activities and customer interactions.
Engage in professional development to remain informed on evolving technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of direct experience in forklift or industrial equipment repair.
Proficiency in diagnostic software and tools, as well as schematic interpretation.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate service vans safely.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Commitment to safety compliance and quality workmanship.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Mechanics or related field.
3–4 years of indirect or supervisory experience.
Professional certification in forklift or heavy equipment repair.
